Roof Buddies Warranty Terms

If a total roof restoration project is done, Roof Buddies guarantees that the roof will be waterproof for 5 (five) years after the application of our rubberised polymer waterproofing system and 5 (five) years for the SABS-approved roof paint as indicated on the final invoice, and subject to the following item specific conditions:

1. Complete roof restoration projects – The warranty refers to the first five years for all rubberised polymer waterproofing systems, covering all water leaks and roof paint against product failure under SANS 10400 regulations.
2. Waterproofing work on roof ridges, roof valleys, roof flashings, roof screws and other spot repairs are guaranteed to be free of leaks for one year as roof leaks may originate from other areas not previously identified during the initial roof inspection.
3. General repairs and maintenance to barge boards, fascia boards, and Carbolineum wood preservation are guaranteed for one year.
4. Re-occurring rust and corrosion cannot be guaranteed but only prolonged, although we use only the best technologically advanced rust and corrosion products on the market.
5. Waterproofing of gutters cannot be guaranteed due to factors such as overflowing, blockages, and other forms of intervention.

Annual inspections:

1. Annual maintenance performed is recommended but not a requirement.
2. Where an inspection is requested, a call-out fee will be levied to cover travel and inspection costs.
3. When additional work is recommended, such as a maintenance coat after five years, a quote will be prepared.
4. When the quote is accepted the cost for the call-out fee will be credited to the account as a pre-payment against the invoice total.

Non-valid claims:

The warranty card is not valid in the following cases:

1. Damages caused by the intervention of unauthorised contractors or persons.
2. Damages are caused by factors such as significant climatic variations, ponding of water due to hailstorms, gusts, long periods of persistent rain, and other Acts of God, etc.
3. Insufficient annual maintenance such as blocked gutters and downpipes.
4. Damages caused by water to any furniture, ceilings, walls, fittings, and appliances.
5. If other contractors are contracted for the repairs recommended and quoted by Roof Buddies.

How to claim:

1. If you claim under this warranty, you should contact Roof Buddies at info@roofbuddies.co.za by attaching your warranty card and the legal voucher for the service rendered (invoice and proof of payment) to book an inspection.
2. Where it was determined that the origin of the claim relates to cases described under “Non valid claims” above, a call-out fee will be levied to cover travel and inspection costs and a quote for the required repairs will be presented.
3. When the quote is accepted, the cost for the call-out fee will be credited to the account as a pre-payment against the invoice total.
